Estimator - Intermediate or senior level



Our client is a leading contractor in the field of term highway maintenance and a range of related activities. They now seek a Estimator / Senior Estimator to work from their HQ in Hampshire.



Reporting to the Chief Estimator you will review and price schedules of rate and Bills of Quantities for tenders for Highway Maintenance and Construction Work and produce reports detailing commercial issues. You will use analytical techniques and assist with the development of tender proposals that account for risks and opportunities. Duties will include taking off quantities from design drawings and specifications, liaising with Contract Teams to ensure appropriate operational methodology is incorporated within pricing logic and work as a member of the Estimating Team pricing tenders to ensure that all deadlines are met and tenders are priced competitively. Pricing will generally be undertaken using Candy estimating software.



You will have an ONC or similar in an engineering discipline, or A level in numerate or scientific subject, as well as experience in using Microsoft suite of IT software, in particular Word and Excel. Also it is desirable to have experience in a civil engineering environment, preferably in highways maintenance and experience of Candy estimating software. You will be a team player, numerate and a good communicator.



Traveling will be required on an occasional basis to visit sites, meet clients, suppliers and sub-contractors within existing and new areas of operation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to join a main contractor that can offer on-going training and career development.
